Parkour in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Published by Karen Moorhead under Ann Arbor Color

Ann Arbor is known for sports heroes of many types.  You could include Michael Phelps because he trained in A2, but less well known is the sport of Parkour and Free Running.  This is an extreme sport and there is a club which meets two to three days per week in Ann Arbor to develop the needed skills.

Here is a young man, Levi Meeuwenberg, who excels at the sport; he is respected across the world and has participated in the sport in Australia and Japan and he is from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

It reminds me of gymnastics but on the streets.  If you decide to get involved, all I can say is, “stay safe and off the roof tops”.

Democrats in Washtenaw County - Thank you!

Published by Karen Moorhead under Chelsea, Dexter, Michigan

To every single volunteer, to ever single voter, we thank you for making history November 4, 2008.

I am honored to be part of this and happy to share photos of hard working volunteers and precinct workers who kept the polls working well throughout our Washtenaw county.  There were many people who worked long hours and we thank you all.

I would like to give a huge shout out to Maureen from Scio township Democratic office.  It was a pleasure to meet and work with you.

To our new Congressman Mark Schauer, we wish you best and I’m sure you will represent us well!  We look forward to your hard work in Washington, D.C.

Our best hopes for you, President-elect Barack Obama.

Thank you to a remarkable day made in history and for every one who voted or helped: thank you!

What does your ballot look like?

Published by Karen Moorhead under Economy

Don't forget to vote!

There are many important issues this year and the Presidential election takes much of the news, but remember there are Congress, Senate and ballot initiatives.  Here is the place to find your ballot:

http://publius.org

I tried to go to mine and it showed where I vote (important to go to the correct location) and the hours and requirements for photo i.d.

It is all working now so check out your ballot and be ready tomorrow!

Don’t forget to vote.
