Ann Arbor Runners 2008

The Big Heart Big House Run in Ann Arbor this weekend was a roaring success with beautiful skies and perfect temperature.

The next fun run in Ann Arbor is at Gallup Park on October 12, 2008 and it is the Dan Jilek Memorial Run and it starts at 10:00 a.m.  T-shirts are included as well as a picnic and awards after the race.  Hope it is another lovely day.

Dexter-Ann Arbor Road ready for cyclists to head safely down the road.

The calendar now agrees with all of us that it is the first day of fall and it is just beautiful! If you want to head to Dexter on your bike the Dexter Ann Arbor Road is looking just fine near Dexter Middle School.  This photo is the new road with a well marked bike path.

The Dexter Cider Mill is currently open and has cider, Michigan apples, donuts and other delicious treats for you to enjoy.

Hope to see you out on the road and the word on Huron River Drive is that near Ann Arbor looks great with the new pavement, but near Dexter the Eastbound route is still very torn up and causes problems if you hit one of those huge potholes.

If you are a kindergarden child’s mom or dad, I’m wishing you the best today and I’m sure you have already dealt with the most difficult part of the day. Saying “goodbye” and “see you after school” are just the part of growing up that is usually much harder on the parents then the children. To each of you, I understand and it will get easier, much easier to do! You have to trust those of us who have done it already.

To all the teachers out there getting their new classroom of children, whether they are brand new to you, the school or somewhat familiar, I wish a wonderful year with great kids and supportive parents.

To all the kids who jumped out of bed today, just remember that feeling when Friday comes and you are tired of waking up so darn early. You only have about 9 more months of this until next summer. Well, don’t worry you also have breaks before you know it.

Anyway, have a great first day back everyone!! I can’t wait to hear how my own kids like their classrooms, classes and teachers.
